In 1997, I began teaching a unique discipline of movement training for high performers at universities and conservatories, including CalPoly Humboldt, University of California Davis, The American Conservatory Theater and Old Dominion University.

I trained actors, singers and public speakers to improve their movement, breathing and speaking. It was in my pre-professional voice classes that I discovered the powerful corrective mechanisms that we use in the Embody Training. 

I had a unique task: to improve the way people breathe and move. How do you improve the very function of a human being? As a young teacher in my 20's, it was up to me to find out. I began with myself, seeking out the top experts in the fields of breathing, movement and brain plasticity.

I studied with visionary trainers, including Jeff Crockett, Jurg Roffler and Ilse Middendorf, who taught me the essence of true breathing. Jeff Crockett also introduced me to the Alexander Technique, which I studied in depth with Frank Ottiwell and his top students.

After several years developing my techniques under the direction of these world class mentors, I transitioned to a private practice helping people with pain and limitations.

I began a long apprenticeship with Anat Baniel, from whom I learned the most powerful hands on techniques as well as the movement lessons of Moshe Feldenkrais. I was Anat Baniel's assistant in her private practice for 8 years and also worked in multiple ABM trainings. 

I have helped thousands of clients of all ages and have trained hundreds of professionals in San Francisco, New York, Scottsdale, San Diego, Beijing and Bangkok. 

My very first client was a young scientist who suffered from extreme physical tension that interfered with her ability to speak. She literally could not open her mouth to speak and it interfered with her professional and social life. Soon after a young man came to me with extreme posture problems. He had very poor eyesight and habitually looked at the floor. Another young man hired me to teach him to touch his toes. A middle aged woman with no arms wanted to move with greater ease. Numbers of foreign students wanted to reduce their accent. Older people sought out pain relief.

As a young teacher still in my 20's, I was suddenly faced with a multitude of requests to help in a wide variety of concerns, all related to human function. All were related to neural function and in those early years I made an important series of discoveries. First, I discovered that people can improve their lives by improving their neural function. I developed a variety of ways to help people discover their own ability to improve. This results in huge gains in coordination and wellbeing.I discovered the way to teach anyone to get themselves "in the zone" at will. If someone wanted to sing better, I could help them sing better. If someone wanted to do kickboxing better, I could help them to excel even if I had never done that activity.

By 30 years old, I was teaching in multiple universities with a unique process of self improvement. I taught the intentional reorganization of neural habits and a way to dramatically improve your ability. More and more of my students experienced pain relief and other health benefits as well as a huge boost in performance.Through my extensive work helping people with their breathing, I discovered an unknown function of the human nervous system which I call Neural Triggers. Neural Triggers are complex unconscious functions that correct important areas of life like breathing, balance, muscle tone and more. They are like internal "reset buttons" and part of the reason my work is so fast and effective. In my private practice, I have helped people from 8 days old to 90 years old to dramatically improve their neural function and thereby improving the every day things they do, like walking, talking, working and playing. By working with the nervous system, we can recalibrate, reorganize and optimize virtually all internal function.This is the evolution of physical training which combines thinking, feeling, movement and learning. Based on neurological principles and the way we really function, nothing is faster or more effective at helping you truly improve.
